How Ember works

Plan. Focus. Track. Review.

Most apps make you choose between a planner and a timer. In Ember they’re the same thing — the block you plan is the clock you run.

  1. 01 · Plan

Plan your day in time blocks.

Give each task a time, a length, a colour and an icon. Switch on Focus session and the block gets its own Start button.

    • Time & length
    • Subtasks & notes
    • Alerts
    • Repeats
Ember's To-Do timeline with morning blocks ticked off and the 1:30 PM Physics problem set block ready to start
  2. 02 · Focus

Tap Start. The block becomes the clock.

A full-screen flip countdown, titled with your task and sized to your block. After a few seconds the controls fade away and only the time is left.

  3. 03 · Track

Finish the block. It ticks itself off.

The moment a session ends it’s saved — even if you stop early — and the block is checked off on your timeline. No double bookkeeping.

Everything a block needs. Nothing it doesn’t.

Build a block in seconds — a time, a length, an activity — then add only what helps: subtasks, notes, alerts or a repeat.

A flip built natively

Every flip is drawn by native code on iPhone and Android, so it stays smooth on older phones too. Choose from five completion sounds — bell, chime, pulse, digital and xylophone — with haptics on start and finish.

Questions

Good to know.

Something else on your mind? Email us, or message us on WhatsApp or by text at +92 349 6772797.

Is Ember really free?

Yes. Every feature is free. Ember shows a few ads at natural breaks — after you finish a session or close the clock — never during a session. Ember Pro removes them.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and start. There’s no sign-up, and your plans and sessions are stored on your phone.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Timers, plans, reminders and reports all work with Wi-Fi off.

Does Ember block other apps?

No. Ember keeps a full-screen clock in front of you and your phone out of your hand, but it doesn’t lock or block other apps.

What happens if I stop a session early?

It still counts. Ember logs the time you focused, and a session started from a block ticks that block off.

Can I use the Pomodoro technique?

Yes. Set the focus length, break length and number of rounds, and Ember runs the rounds and breaks and tells you when you’ll finish.

Can I see a session without unlocking my phone?

On iPhone, a running session shows in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen as a Live Activity (iOS 16.2 or later). On Android, a floating clock can sit over your other apps.

Which devices does Ember run on?

iPhone with iOS 15.1 or later, from the App Store. Ember for Android is on its way to Google Play.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Turkish, Dutch, Polish and Indonesian.

How do I cancel Ember Pro?

Manage or cancel your subscription any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Settings → Manage Subscription in Ember takes you there.

What data does Ember collect?

Your sessions, activities and goals never leave your phone. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and purchases go through Apple, Google and Adapty. The privacy policy has the details.

Start your first block.

Free on the App Store. No account, no setup — plan one block, tap Start, and watch the clock flip.
